Grow microgreens in your classroom — seed to harvest in 7–14 days.
The TG-01 Rental gives Queensland primary school classrooms a complete Smart Microgreen Kit for one school term. Students plant seeds in Week 1 and can harvest within two weeks. The full growing cycle fits within a single term, giving every class a genuine seed-to-harvest experience before the end-of-term break.
What's Included
The rental includes the full LaNiTex Smart Microgreen Kit — a compact LED grow light system with germination mats, a self-watering reservoir, and all components needed to start your first tray. Curriculum-aligned resources are included to help you connect the project to classroom learning objectives.
Setup takes under 20 minutes and requires only a standard power point. No soil. No plumbing. No specialist installation.
Curriculum Connections
The microgreen project supports Australian Curriculum V9.0 outcomes across:
- Science — living things, biological sciences, life cycles and germination
- Design & Technologies — systems thinking, food production, sustainable materials
- HASS — food sources, environmental sustainability, community food systems
Students observe germination daily, record growth measurements, compare outcomes, and participate in a genuine farm-to-table experience within a single term. Most microgreen varieties show visible sprouts within 2–4 days under the LED grow light, which keeps student engagement high from day one.
Why Microgreens Work in the Classroom
The kit is compact enough to sit on a bench or shelf in any classroom. The automated wicking mat keeps the growing surface consistently moist without daily watering — the system can run over a long weekend without intervention.
There is no natural light requirement. The LED grow light provides the full spectrum the plants need, so the kit works in any room regardless of window orientation.
Cleanup is minimal. Growing mats are replaced after each harvest. There is no soil, no digging, and no outdoor access required.
The Term-Grow Program
The TG-01 is part of LaNiTex's Term-Grow Enrolment program — a term-based rental scheme designed to make hands-on food growing accessible to Queensland primary schools without upfront equipment costs. The program is run by founder Laszlo Bulatko, who tested the same kit at home in Sippy Downs before making it available to schools. His first microgreen tray was ready to harvest in under a week.
